Snail Mail

September 9th, 2007 by Ken Mankoff

I've had some requests for a mailing address on ice. Here is everything you need to know about sending mail to McMurdo Station, Antarctica:

Letter mail service varies, generally taking 5 to 14 days, but sometimes longer. Packages have the lowest priority of all cargo being transported to Antarctica resulting in a delivery time of up to 6 weeks. Please do not send perishable foods. It is illegal to send foam peanuts to Antarctica.

My mailing address will be:

Ken Mankoff
McMurdo Station
Project G-091-M
PSC 469 Box 800
APO AP 96599-1035

And for timing, I'll be on ice from approximately October 8 through December 8.

*** Edit (2007-09-25): I'll still have email while I'm down there, and be updating this site regularly.
